Alexandre Gilbert (born 30 October 1980, Paris, France) is a French curator, journalist, historian & founder of the Galerie Chappe, in 2005.

Alexandre Gilbert is born at the Hôpital Saint-Antoine in 1980 in Paris and spends part of his childhood near Damville. He studies at École Valmonceau, École Internationale Bilingue and Lycée Fénelon Sainte-Marie, St Clare's, Oxford, Wellesley College, joins University of Nanterre, Reims Management School and completes two internships working for Canal Plus, as an assistant of Yann Barthès in 1999, and the French edition of Premiere magazine. He writes an article, Le casting flingueur des candidats (The sniper casting of the candidates) for the 2002 French presidential election and joins on the Annecy International Animated Film Festival and the Sarajevo Film Festival.

In 2005, he founds the Galerie Chappe, highest in Paris,Rue André Barsacq, in Montmartre, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris and in 2008, the Réseau Nord of contemporary art with Galerie Paul Frèches, Kadist, Isabelle Le Normand and Le Bal.

In 2009, he celebrates Vice magazine's 15th birthday photo exhibition and invites novelists as Frederic Beigbeder, David Foenkinos (2009), Alejandro Jodorowsky (2011) and Aurélien Bellanger (2014).
