Alex Chalk is an English Conservative Party politician. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Cheltenham since May 2015. He is a barrister at 6KBW College Hill. Chalk is a Member of the Criminal Bar Association and the Serious Fraud Office Panel of Counsel.
Chalk was born on 8 August 1976 in the village of Foxcote. His early education was at the independent school Winchester College before he studied Modern History at the Magdalen College, Oxford. Chalk subsequently obtained a Graduate Diploma in Law from the City University London. He qualified as a barrister from the Inns of Court School of Law. Chalk was a councillor on the Hammersmith and Fulham council between 2006–2014.
Chalk was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Cheltenham in May 2015. Chalk supported remaining within the European Union prior to the 2016 referendum.
