Aldershot /ˈɔːldərˌʃɒt/ is a constituency in Hampshire, created in 1918 represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 1997 by Sir Gerald Howarth of the Conservative Party.
Aldershot has elected Conservative MPs since its creation in 1918. Since 1974 the Liberal Democrats or its predecessor the Liberals have finished second in every election — other than the 2015 general election when the Labour candidate was the runner-up. The 2015 result made the seat the 123rd safest of the Conservative Party's 331 seats by percentage of majority.
