Alan Peter Winton (born 4 September 1958) is the Bishop of Thetford in the Church of England.
Educated at Sheffield University, and gaining his PhD from that university in 1987, Winton trained for ministry at Lincoln Theological College and was ordained a deacon in 1991. His first post was as a Curate in Southgate, in the Diocese of London. Later he was Priest in charge of St Paul's Walden, then CME Officer for the St Albans Diocese. Finally (before his elevation to the Episcopate) he was Rector of Welwyn; during the latter part of that appointment, from 2007 til 2009, he was also an honorary canon of St Albans Abbey.
Winton is married with two children.
