Alamgir (born 3 April 1950) is a Bangladeshi film actor, television actor and host. Alamgir has received seven National Film Awards during his career.
Alamgir was born on 3 April 1950 at Dhaka Medical College Hospital in Dhaka. His father Alhaz Kalim Uddin Ahmed (Dudu Miah) was an executive producer of Mukh O Mukhosh, the first film of the Dhallywood film industry.
Alamgir's first film was Amar Jonmovumi, directed by Alamgir Kumkum. His second film was Dasyu Rani. He has worked in a variety of films and TV dramas, and also as a presenter. In 1986, he made his directorial debut with the film Nishpap. He has received seven National Film Awards and several other awards.
He is the father of singer Akhi Alamgir. Alamgir's first wife was songwriter Khoshnur Alamgir. After their divorce he married singer Runa Laila.
Alamgir is the host of the game show Houseful on Maasranga Television.
