"Acceptable in the 80s" is the debut single by Scottish recording artist Calvin Harris. It was released as the lead single from Harris' debut studio album, I Created Disco (2007), on 11 December 2006. The song became Harris' first hit in the United Kingdom, peaking at the number 10 position on the UK Singles Chart.

The song is in the key of E minor, with a tempo of 128bpm. It samples the song "Shake It" by David Bowie.

The music video, directed by Woof Wan-Bau, features many references to the 80's, including the stereotypical large hairstyles and bright dayglo colours. It also features scientists dissecting a sock puppet of what appears to be a genet, products of which are used by a hair stylist, a TV chef, and to heal a grazed knee.

This song is extensively used as the theme song for the Patreon funded video podcast OSW review.
