Abul-Hasan Al-Muhajir is the official spokesman of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). Abul-Hasan is the successor of Abu Mohammad al-Adnani, who was killed while visiting the Aleppo frontlines in Syria in August 2016. An unintentional US airstrike is believed to have killed the former spokesman.
Abul-Hasan is a foreign fighter whose true identity remains anonymous as the Islamic State did not reveal any information about him. The group's Furat or Euphrates media released an official audio speech titled "You'll remember what I am saying to you" by Abul-Hasan on 5 December 2016 via the group's official deep web locations, social media handles and secure messaging services.
In an article published in The Atlantic, journalist Graeme Wood postulates that Abul-Hasan Al-Muhajir is Texas-born John Georgelas, also known as Yahya Abu Hassan.
