Abraham G. Lansing

Abraham Gerritse Lansing (December 12, 1756 Albany, New York – May 15, 1834 Albany, New York) was an American politician.

He was the son of Gerrit Jacobse Lansing (b. 1711) and Jane Waters Lansing (1728–1810). On April 9, 1779, he married Susanna Yates (1762–1840, daughter of Abraham Yates) in Albany, and they had thirteen children, among them Gerrit Y. Lansing.

He was Surrogate of Albany County from 1787 to 1808, and New York State Treasurer from 1803 to 1808, and from 1810 to 1812.

He lived at the house built by his father-in-law at what became 358 North Market Street, in Albany.

He was buried at the Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands, New York.

Chancellor John Lansing, Jr. was his brother; his daughter Susan Lansing (1804–1874) was the second wife of Peter Gansevoort (1788–1876); and his grandson Abraham Lansing (1835–1899) was Acting New York State Treasurer in 1874.
