Aaron Loves Angela is a 1975 American Soul Cinema Classic film written by Gerald Sanford and directed by Gordon Parks, Jr. This film stars Moses Gunn, Kevin Hooks and Irene Cara. Both Cara and Hooks made early film appearances in this piece. This is the final film that Gordon Parks, Jr. directed before his death on April 3, 1979.
Aaron Loves Angela is about two teenagers living in the slums of New York City who are deeply in love with each other. Angela (Irene Cara), who is Puerto Rican, falls in love with Aaron (Kevin Hooks), who is black. Their relationship is not approved by either of their parents. They both rebel against their parents' prejudices, but soon find out that their friends and neighbors share the same prejudices as their parents.
The soundtrack was composed by José Feliciano and Janna Marlyn Feliciano, recorded and performed on the José Feliciano Album "Angela" for . After 40years from recording, in 2016, the soundtrack is re-released for the first time for digital stores
