Icons or 7Icons (/aɪkɒns/ or Indonesian pronunciation: [aykens]) is an Indonesian electropop girl group formed on 28 October 2010. The group currently has three members: , , and
The group's debut single was "Playboy".
The group was formed by friends from three big cities in Indonesia:
Members of the group come from, and previously have come from, various related professions: modeling, fashion designer, dancer, presenter, teacher, college student, and disc jockey. After the initial idea for the group was suggested by A.Tee, they decided to move to Jakarta and bought a small apartment to act as their headquarters. Whilst searching for a music label, 7icons hired a personal dance coach and took vocal lessons, all of which were self-financed. As the group had large expenditure (for coaches, studio, etc.) and no income, Mezty sold her car to help them cover costs. After 7icons signed a contract with Keci Music in Indonesia, they prepared for their debut and started promoting their single track Playboy.
7icons debuted with their first single "Playboy" (created by Dewiq/Dj Sumantri) on 18 April 2011, at 07:07 AM on the radio in the Indonesian television music show "Derings" (on the TransTv channel). 7icons also became main cast members on teen drama mini-series "Go Go Girls", with "Playboy" as the opening & closing theme, on the TransTV channel. The single track was well received, reaching number two on the national music chart in its first week, and then became a TVC jingle in their first TV commercial with Telkom Indonesia. The group's schedule became tighter as their popularity grew. After long-lasting single "Playboy", 7icons released a 2nd single, "Jealous", with darker themes and content. "Jealous" launched along with "Penjaga Hati" on Indonesian television show Dahsyat (on RCTI.18) in September 2011. 7icons held a mini-concert, themed as a pyjama party, as the launch of their mini-album, "Lovable". Their fan base grew through Indonesia; their fanclub was established, named "ICONIA". Until the end of the year, 7icons successfully performed throughout Indonesia. 7icons was the only female group who performed at Road to 2011 Southeast Asian Games, held in Borobudur. To close the year, the group released The Journey of Love, the first full album from an Indonesian girl band, on 21 December 2011. The album is not sold by conventional methods, but via special booths in Naughty Accessories.
