5 After Midnight, also known as 5AM, is a British boy group formed in 2016 during the thirteenth series of the UK version of The X Factor, finishing in 3rd place.

Their debut single, "Up In Here" peaked at 51 on the UK Singles Chart.

The group took part in the thirteenth series of the UK version of The X Factor. They competed in the "Groups" category mentored by Louis Walsh. In the finals, the group duetted with Louisa Johnson, where they performed hit single Tears. Eventually, they finished as the second runner-ups, being defeated by Matt Terry and Saara Aalto

Following their success in the competition, the group was signed by Cowell's record label, Syco.

In 2017, they released their debut single "Up In Here". Subsequently, two promotional singles, "Taste" and "Talk" were released together with the announcement of their debut studio album, "The Sauce"

During the finals of The X Factor UK, the group duetted with Louisa Johnson. The response from the public was rather negative, with many commenting on how finalists used to duet with big names like Beyoncé, and that the standards of the show had dropped dramatically. Additionally, Louisa Johnson was allegedly forced to sing with a lower tone during the duet so as to blend well with the group's harmonies, resulting in a weak vocal performance. Many viewers mentioned how she sang significantly worse during this performance in comparison to her others.

Upon releasing their debut single "Up In Here", the group performed it on Britain's Got Talent, in which, they were accused for lip-syncing. The group later confirmed that the allegations were in fact true.
