The 2019 East Asian Youth Games will be an international multi-sport event for countries in East Asia to be held in Taichung City, Republic of China (Taiwan), from August 24 to 31, 2019.
All eight countries whose National Olympic Committee is recognized by the East Asian Games Association and one country whose National Olympic Committee is recognized by the Oceania National Olympic Committees, will participate.

Taichung City was selected to be the host city for the first East Asian Youth Games in October 24, 2014 in Beijing, China during the 32nd East Asian Games Association Council Meeting. The Taichung City Government was scheduled to establish a committee for the Games in December 2014, but it was postponed until June 26, 2015 to establish the 2019 East Asian Youth Games Organization Committee (2019年東亞青年運動會籌備委員會). This will be the first time Taichung City has organised an international multi-sport event as well as the first East Asian Youth Games.
There will be ten core sports events and two non-core sports events during the Taichung East Asian Youth Games. The core events will be athletics, aquatics (swimming and diving), judo, taekwondo, three to three basketball, futsal, table tennis, badminton, tennis (tennis and soft tennis), and beach volleyball. Cycling and canoeing will be non-core events.
The Taichung City Government plan that the opening and closing ceremony will be hosted in Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium. Other venues will include Zhongzheng Sports Center, Chaoman Civial Sports Center, Taichung Stadium of the National Taiwan University of Sport, Dongshan Senior High School, Feng Chia University, National Chung Hsing University, Shinmin High School, Taichung City Tennis Center. Athletes will stay in four star hotels in Taichung City.
