The 2017 Papua New Guinea National Soccer League season is the 11th edition of this competition.
Six teams were supposed to start in the league, among which the Southern Strikers FC, but they were forced to withdraw from the competition after not showing up to the first match of the season. Therefore, Vitis Yamaros was invited to join the top-tier as a replacement. Two clubs will qualify for the 2018 OFC Champions League.

(C) = Champion; (R) = Relegated; (P) = Promoted; (E) = Eliminated; (O) = Play-off winner; (A) = Advances to a further round.
Only applicable when the season is not finished:
(Q) = Qualified to the phase of tournament indicated; (TQ) = Qualified to tournament, but not yet to the particular phase indicated; (RQ) = Qualified to the relegation tournament indicated; (DQ) = Disqualified from tournament.
