The 2017 Norwegian First Division (known as OBOS-ligaen for sponsorship reasons) is Norway's second-tier football league. The league will be contested by 16 teams, and the top two teams will be promoted to Eliteserien, while the teams placed from third to sixth place will play a promotion-playoff against the 14th-placed team in Eliteserien to win promotion. The bottom two teams will be relegated to the Second Division and the team in 14 place will play in the playoff.
The first round of the season will be played on 2 April 2017 and will end with the last round on 5 November 2017.
In the 2016 First Division, Kristiansund, and Sandefjord won promotion to Eliteserien, while Bryne, Hødd, KFUM Oslo and Raufoss were relegated to the 2017 Second Division.
Bodø/Glimt, and Start, were relegated from the 2016 Tippeligaen, while Tromsdalen, Elverum, Florø and Arendal were promoted from the 2016 Second Division.
