The 2017–18 Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team will represent the University of Kansas in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, which will be the Jayhawks' 120th basketball season. The Jayhawks, members of the Big 12 Conference, will play their home games at Allen Fieldhouse and will be led by 15th year Hall of Fame head coach Bill Self. The Jayhawks will attempt to break UCLA's record that was tied the previous season of consecutive conference championships with their 14th straight title.

Starting with the 2016 NBA draft, if a player declares for the draft, but does not hire an agent, it allows the player to return to their school even after participating in the NBA Draft Combine, as long as they withdraw from the draft no later than 10 days after the end of the combine. For the 2017 draft, the final withdrawal date to retain NCAA eligibility is May 24.

This is a preliminary roster based on the Jayhawks 2016–2017 roster with seniors from that season removed, incoming freshmen added, incoming transfers added, and outgoing transfers removed. The roster is subject to multiple changes until the fall as players enter the draft, transfer in or out, and unsigned high school seniors commit.

The full schedule will be announced in the fall. Current confirmed opponents include all 9 Big 12 teams at home and on the road and Kentucky in the 2017 Champions Classic. The Jayhawks will also participate in the 2017 Hoophall Miami Invitational, which is a round robin tournament featuring campus games against Oakland, Texas Southern, and Toledo, and a game against Syracuse in Miami, Florida. Kansas will play former Big 12 opponent Texas A&M in the 2018 Big 12/SEC Challenge. They will also play in exhibition games against cross state Division II schools Pittsburg State and Fort Hays State.
