The 2016–17 Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL) season, also called Tete-a-Tete Casino-LKL for sponsorship reasons, will be the 24th season of the top tier basketball league of Lithuania. Regular season started on 21 September 2016.
Žalgiris is the defending champion.
During the regular season, all teams will play 36 games. The top eight teams in the after playing the whole 36 games each one will join the playoffs in the quarterfinals, that will be played in a best-of-three games format. The semifinals were also played in this format.
The final round was played between the two winners of the semifinals. The final series for the first place were played in a best-of-seven format, while the series for the third place were played in a best-of-five format.
