The 2015–16 season was Torquay United's 117th season of existence and their second consecutive season in the National League. Along with competing in the National League, the club also participated in the FA Cup and FA Trophy. The season covered the period from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016.

On 14 May 2015, Torquay United had reached an agreement with Tiverton Town for a pre-season friendly on 15 July 2015. On 20 May 2015, Torquay United announced their second pre-season friendly against Exeter City. On 9 June 2015, two more friendlies were confirmed against Truro City and Yeovil Town. On 12 June 2015, Torquay United announced they will host Plymouth Argyle. On 29 June 2015, the Gulls announced they will face local side Liverton United on 7 July 2015. On 6 July 2015, Torquay United confirmed a friendly against Galmpton United. On 11 July 2015, Torquay United announced Newport County will visit on 18 July. On 30 July 2015, Torquay United added a final pre-season friendly to the schedule.








On 3 July 2015, the fixtures for the forthcoming National League season was announced. Torquay United started at home against Macclesfield Town.
