Red Bull Salzburg entered the competition in its first round.
By coming second in the Austrian Bundesliga's 2012–13 season, Red Bull Salzburg entered the 2013-2014 season of the UEFA Champions League in its third qualifying round in the unseeded non-champions pot. Red Bull Salzburg failed to defeat Turkish 2012–13 Süper Lig runners-up Fenerbahçe S.K. in the third qualifying round, thus being eliminated from the competition for this season. Salzburg is however allowed to move to and participate in the play-off round of the UEFA Europa League.
