The 2009 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational was a golf tournament that was contested from August 6–9, 2009 over the South Course at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. It was the eleventh WGC-Bridgestone Invitational tournament, and the third of four World Golf Championships events held in 2009.
World number 1 Tiger Woods won the tournament, and claimed his 16th World Golf Championships title, which was his seventh Invitational title. This was his 4th non-consecutive Invitational title as he won the 2005, 2006, and 2007 titles before skipping the 2008 edition. He won over Robert Allenby and Pádraig Harrington by four strokes, and Woods shot a 12-under par 268. This was Woods's 10th Invitational appearance with his worst finishes being 2nd in 2004, and 4th place finishes in 2002 and 2003.
