World number 1 Tiger Woods won the tournament, and claimed his 16th World Golf Championships title, which was his seventh Invitational title. This was his 4th non-consecutive Invitational title as he won the 2005, 2006, and 2007 titles before skipping the 2008 edition. He won over Robert Allenby and Pádraig Harrington by four strokes, and Woods shot a 12-under par 268.
