The 2009-10 season marks Burnley's 127th year as a football club. This is Burnley's first ever season in the Premier League, thus bringing to an end the club's 33-year absence from the top flight of English football.
01.06.09: Burnley release out-of-contract trio Steve Jones, Gábor Király and Alan Mahon, whilst new deals are offered to Graham Alexander, Adam Kay and Alex MacDonald.
17.06.09: The 2009-10 Premier League fixtures are announced.
18.06.09: Owen Coyle signs a contract extension at Turf Moor to stay with Burnley until the end of the 2012-13 season.
29.06.09: Graham Alexander signs a one-year contract extension to stay at Turf Moor until the end of the 2009-10 season.
30.06.09: Burnley complete their first summer signing with the capture of Derby County's Tyrone Mears for a fee of around £500,000. Burnley make their second summer signing later the same day when Steven Fletcher signs from Hibernian for a club record fee of £3,000,000.
01.07.09: David Edgar becomes Burnley's third signing in two days, following his arrival from Newcastle United on a four-year deal.
01.07.09: The Cricket Field Stand for the 2009-10 season will be used to house both home and away supporters. This will mark the first time in 13 years Burnley fans have occupied all four sides of Turf Moor.
