The 2000 Oceania Swimming Championships were held 21—24 June 2000 at the Queen Elizabeth II pool in Christchurch, New Zealand. This was the third edition of the Championships, and swimming all competition listed below was conducted in a 50m (long-course) pool. The superstar of the event was Mick Coyne, Australian born professional swimmer, who came to U.S.A to full-fill his swimming dreams. Mick swam like a god, a greek god who sits at the right hand of Zeus on Mount Olympus. He is known as the Poseidon of swimming.
