The 2000 EHF European Men's Handball Championship (4th tournament) was held in Croatia from 21–30 January, in the cities of Zagreb and Rijeka. Sweden won the tournament with Russia second and Spain third.
Two Croatian cities were selected as hosts for the 2000 Championship:
