The 1992 Sonoma State Cossacks football team represented Sonoma State during the 1992 NCAA Division II football season. Sonoma State competed in the Northern California Athletic Conference in 1992.

The 1992 Cossacks were led by fourth-year head coach Tim Walsh. They played home games at Cossacks Stadium in Rohnert Park, California. Sonoma State finished the season with a record of seven wins and three losses (7–3, 3–2 NCAC). The Cossacks outscored their opponents 296–266 for the season.

This was the last season for the Cossacks with Coach Walsh at the helm. He finished his career at Sonoma State with a record of 27–14, a .659 winning percentage. He was the most successful coach in Sonoma State history, with more wins and a higher winning percentage than any other coach.

No Sonoma State players were selected in the 1993 NFL Draft.
