The 1987 Iowa Hawkeyes football team represented the University of Iowa in the 1987 NCAA Division I-A football season. The Hawkeyes played their home games at Kinnick Stadium and were led by legendary coach Hayden Fry.

Chuck Hartlieb completed 25 of 32 passes for 471 yards and 7 touchdowns.

With six seconds left, Chuck Hartlieb threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Marv Cook on fourth-and-23 to earn Iowa's first victory at Ohio Stadium since 1959.
