The 1983–84 La Liga season, the 53rd since its establishment, started on September 3, 1983, and finished on April 29, 1984. It was composed of the following clubs:

(*) Athletic Bilbao also won the 1983-84 Copa del Rey and thus F.C. Barcelona (as finalists) qualified for next season's Cup Winners' Cup.
