The 1983–84 Iraqi National League was the 10th season of the competition since its foundation in 1974. Al-Jaish won their first league title of the Premier League era and their second in total, and became the seventh team since 1974 to win the league without losing a single match; their record was 24 matches, 15 wins, 9 draws, 0 losses, 42 goals scored, 18 goals conceded, +24 goal difference and 39 points. As champions, the Iraq Football Association admitted them into a friendly tournament called the Marah Halim Cup, and admitted runners-up Al-Talaba into a friendly tournament called the Stafford Cup. Both teams won their respective cups.
