The 1980 National League Championship Series was played between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Houston Astros from October 7 to 12. Philadelphia won the series three games to two to advance to the World Series, eventually defeating the Kansas City Royals for their first World Championship. The 1980 NLCS is widely regarded as one of the most exciting postseason series in baseball history.
