The 1972 Fresno State Bulldogs football team represented California State University, Fresno during the 1972 University Division football season as a member of the Pacific Coast Athletic Association. The team was led by head coach Darryl Rogers, in his seventh (and last) year, and they played their home games at Ratcliffe Stadium on the campus of Fresno City College in Fresno, California. They finished the season with a record of six wins, four losses and one tie (6–4–1, 1–3 PCAA).
