The 1968 Sacramento State Hornets football team represented Sacramento State College during the 1968 College Division football season.

Sacramento State competed in the Far Western Conference (FWC). The Hornets were led by head coach Ray Clemons in his eighth season. They played home games at Charles C. Hughes Stadium in Sacramento, California. The team finished the season with a record of eight wins and three losses (8–3, 4–2 FWC). Overall the team outscored its opponents 245–137 for the season.

At the end of the season, the Hornets were invited to play in the Pasadena Bowl. In the game, Sacramento State was defeated by Grambling, 7–34. The was the second time Sacramento State had been invited to a bowl game, the previous being the Camellia Bowl in 1964.

No Sacramento State players were selected in the 1969 NFL Draft.
