The 1965 San Francisco State Gators football team represented San Francisco State College during the 1965 College Division football season.

San Francisco State competed in the Far Western Conference (FWC). The Gators were led by fifth-year head coach Vic Rowen. They played home games at Cox Stadium in San Francisco, California. The team finished the season as champion of the FWC with a record of eight wins and two losses (8–2, 5–0 FWC). This was the fourth title in five years for the Gators. For the season the team outscored its opponents 289–107.

No San Francisco State players were selected in the 1966 NFL Draft.
