The 1964 Orange Bowl was a college football postseason bowl game between the Auburn Tigers and the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

The Cornhuskers were champion of the Big Eight Conference for the first time since 1940 and first Orange Bowl since 1955. The Tigers finished 2nd in the Southeastern Conference in their first bowl game since 1955 and first Orange Bowl since 1938.

Dennis Claridge gave the Cornhuskers a 7-0 lead on his 68 yard touchdown run. Dave Theisen added in two field goals before the half ended to give them a 13-0 halftime lead. Jimmy Sidle made it 13-7 on his 13 yard touchdown run. In the closing seconds, Auburn was driving down the field for the potential win, when linebacker John Kirby batted a Tiger pass away, as the Cornhuskers won their first ever Orange Bowl. Claridge ran for 108 yards on the day.

This was the last year without an MVP award honored to the best player. Nebraska returned to the Orange Bowl two years later, in 1966. Auburn has not returned to the Orange Bowl since this game.
