The 1962 San Francisco State Gators football team represented San Francisco State College during the 1962 College Division football season.

San Francisco State competed in the Far Western Conference (FWC). The Gators were led by second-year head coach Vic Rowen. They played home games at Cox Stadium in San Francisco, California. The team finished the season as champion of the FWC, with a record of six wins, two losses and one tie (6–2–1, 3–1–1 FWC). For the season the team outscored its opponents 135–102.

No San Francisco State players were selected in the 1963 NFL Draft.

The following finished their college career in 1962, were not drafted, but played in the AFL.
