The 1962 Orange Bowl was a post-season college football bowl game played January 1, 1962, on between the LSU Tigers of the Southeastern Conference and the Colorado Buffaloes of the Big 7 Conference . It was the final game of the 1961 season for both teams, LSU won 25–7. It was LSU coach Paul Dietzel's final game with the team. LSU implemented their "three-platoon system", which included the "Chinese Bandits" defensive unit.
