Rankings from AP Poll

The 1957 Utah Utes football team represented the University of Utah during the 1957 college football season. Home games were played on campus in Salt Lake City at Ute Stadium.

Led by eighth-year head coach Jack Curtice, who believed in a wide-open offense, the Utes were 6–4 overall and were champions of the Mountain States Conference (Skyline), with a 5–1 record. They were led on the field by transfer quarterback Lee Grosscup, who finished tenth in the balloting for the Heisman Trophy as a junior and was a second-team AP and UPI All-American.

A notable player was sophomore safety (& halfback) Larry Wilson, a future member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

After the season, Curtice left for Stanford University in the Pacific Coast Conference and was succeeded by Ray Nagel, the backfield coach at UCLA.
