The 1957–58 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began in November 1957 and concluded with the 1958 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament's championship game on March 15, 1958 at the Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This was the 11th season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held and is the 64th year overall where an NCAA school fielded a team.
This was the final season of play for the WIHL. The conference would return two years later as the WCHA.
When teams met each other four times, one point was awarded for a win, one-half for a tie. When teams met eight times (Denver and CC), one-half point was awarded for a win, and one-fourth point for a tie.
