The 1952 Arizona State Sun Devils football team was an American football team that represented Arizona State College (later renamed Arizona State University) in the Border Intercollegiate Athletic Association (BIAA) during the 1952 college football season. In their first season under head coach Clyde B. Smith, the Sun Devils compiled a 6–3 record (4–0 against BIAA opponents) and outscored their opponents by a combined total of 247 to 121. Assistant Coaches were Harold Brown and Bob White. All home games were played at Goodwin Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. The Sun Devils finished (4-3) at home and (2-0) on the road. ASC finished in 1st place of the Border Conference in 1952. Arizona State's team captain was C Virgil Savage.

In the season opener on September 20, 1952, Arizona State defeated Hardin-Simmons 26-7 at Goodwin Stadium. The Sun Devils improved to (2-0) after recording a 40-14 home win over Colorado State on September 27, 1952. San Jose State prevailed over ASC 21-14 on October 4, 1952 in Tempe. Following a bye week, the Devils beat West Texas State 48-14 at home on October 18, 1952. On October 25, 1952, Houston shutout Arizona State 6-0 at Goodwin Stadium. After a bye week to prepare for the rivalry matchup, the Sun Devils surpassed Arizona 20-18 on November 8, 1952 for a big road victory in Tucson. The San Diego Navy downed the Devils 35-13 in Tempe on November 15, 1952. Arizona State College rebounded with a 39-0 shutout home win against Texas El-Paso on November 22, 1952. The Sun Devils closed out the 1952 campaign with an impressive 47-6 home victory over BYU on November 29, 1952.

The usual Arizona State College offensive lineup included: (WR John Allen, LT John Jankans, LG Gus Poulos, C Virgil Savage, RG Allan Strangeland, RT Frank Rogers, TE Gene Mitcham, QB Bob Hendricks, HB Dick Curran, FB Harley Cooper, & WB Marv Wahlin). Jim Aitken, Ed Anderson, Bob Alford, James Bilton, Bob Black, Alan Christenson, Harley Cooper, John Hickman, Bob Luthcke, Dick Mackey, Bob Sedlar, & Ron Wunderly were also on the roster.

Arizona State's leading rusher was Dick Curran (114 Carries, 888 Gross Yards, 18 Yards Lost, 870 Net Yards, & 8.1 Yard Avg).

The Sun Devils' leading passer was Dick Mackey (47-84, 576 Yds, 47.1% Completion Pct., 3 TD, & 7 INT).

Arizona State College's leader in scoring was Marvin Wahlin (11 TD & 66 Total Pts).

The Devils' leading receiver was John Allen (26 Receptions, 374 Yds, & 3 TD).
