The 1916 The Citadel Bulldogs football team represented The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in the 1916 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association football season. Harvey O'Brien served as coach for the first season. The Bulldogs played as members of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association and played home games at College Park Stadium in Hampton Park. The Citadel claims a "State Championship" for 1916 by virtue of its wins over Presbyterian, Newberry, Wofford, Clemson, and South Carolina.
