14-18 NOW

14-18 NOW is an arts programme to commemorate the centenary of the First World War. Initially created by the UK government as the 'First World War Centenary Cultural Programme' it later became an independent arts organisation based at the Imperial War Museum, London, but retaining some government funding.

In October 2012 the UK government announced its plans for marking the centenary of the First World War. They included an arts programme, later provisionally entitled the 'First World War Centenary Cultural Programme'. In order to meet guidelines on government support for arts organisations, this subsequently became 14-18 NOW, an independent organisation with its own board of directors, but which retained some government funding. As of June 2016, 14-18 NOW is hosted by the Imperial War Museum and is based at its London museum; it is funded by the UK government's Department for Culture, Media and Sport, as well as by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England, together with other public and private supporters.
