Lists of animals

Lists of animals are lists concerning members of the Kingdom animalia, primarily taxonomical but also relating to their endangered species status, their geographical location and their portrayal and/or naming in human culture.

The animal Kingdom contains 35 extant phyla. Placozoa and Porifera are in the sub-kingdom Parazoa. The other 33 extant phyla belong to the subkingdom Eumetazoa. Cnidaria and Ctenophora are known as radiata and the other 31 extant phyla are known as bilaterians.
