Saint Thérèse of the Little Flower Catholic Church is located on E Plumb Lane in Reno, Nevada USA. It is also a Saint Jude Shrine. A catholic elementary school is also located on the grounds called Little Flower School of Reno, Nevada USA
The Little Flower School opened in 1962 in what was then a new neighborhood at the southernmost edge of the city. The School is for grades K - 8. Notable alumni include Governor Brian Sandoval.
The parish was established in 1948 and is in its third location. Until 1978 the church itself was housed in a brick building at Wells Avenue and Vassar Street, that building is now used as a bank. The Church was among those visited by relics of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux. This Church is one of seven in the United States to enshrine a relic of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
In late summer of 2017, the pastor of the church added a new method of prayers for the congregation. Father Jorge Herrera had a hollow stone placed on a wooden pedestal. A light was provided from under the rock, that would cause it to glow. Blank prayer intention papers were placed at the main entrance to the church with a box labelled "Jesus Miracles". During every mass, the priest or altar servers say, "For all the prayer intentions in the lumenarium. We pray to the Lord". The Saint Therese Little Flower Church in Reno, Nevada is the only church in the diocese that has a "lumenarium".
Both a statue of Saint Jude Thaddeus, the patron said of hopeless causes, is outside the southern part of the church as well as another statue of the saint is located inside of the northern side of the entry to the church. Votive candles can be purchased from the receptionist to be placed under the statue that is in the entrance.
