Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival is a rock festival, which is held annually in Incheon, South Korea for three days at the end of July. It is considered as one of the biggest live music events in South Korea. The festival covers various genres of music, but mainly rock music and electronic music. The name came from five main themes of the festival; music, passion, environment friendly, DIY, and friendship.
The festival takes place at Incheon Dreampark area, southern part of Incheon Metropolitan City. The site is about 30 kilometers west from downtown Seoul and it used to be a landfill of capital area like Sangam Worldcup Park.
Tickets are officially on sale at shop.doindie.co.kr
The festival has an unfortunate memory of its predecessor, in 1999 Tri-port Festival that was intended to take place at Song-do which used to be a festival area until 2009. The expected line-up of Tri-port Festival included Deep Purple, Rage Against the Machine, Dream Theater, The Prodigy and more. But unfortunately, the event was cancelled due to extreme weather condition. The festival has revived in 2006 with its current name, Pentaport, and is successfully being continued since then.
