Novosheshminsky District (Russian: Новошешминский райо́н; Tatar: Яңа Чишмә районы) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the forty-three in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It is located in the center of the republic. The area of the district is 1,315.3 square kilometers (507.8 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Novosheshminsk. Population: 14,179 (2010 Census); 15,860 (2002 Census);14,663 (1989 Census). The population of Novosheshminsk accounts for 32.2% of the district's total population.
