The episodes from the nineteenth season of the anime series Naruto: Shippuden are based on Part II for Masashi Kishimoto's manga series. The anime only season focuses on the Chūnin Exams occurring after Part I. The episodes are directed by Hayato Date, and produced by Studio Pierrot and TV Tokyo.
The nineteenth season aired from January to May 2015. The season's collection in DVD started on September 2, 2015 under the title of Naruto's Back ~The Tracks of His Friends (ナルトの背中~仲間の軌跡~ Naruto no Senaka ~ Nakama no Kiseki).
The season contains four musical themes: two openings and endings. The first opening theme, "Silhouette" (シルエット "Shiruetto") by KANA-BOON, is used from episode 394 to 405. The second opening theme, "Kaze" (風, "Wind") by Yamazaru, is used from episode 406 to 413. The first ending theme, "Spinning World" by Diana Garnet, is used from episode 394 to 405. The second ending theme, "Kotoba no Iranai Yakusoku" (言葉のいらない約束, "A Promise That Needs No Words") by sana, is used from episode 406 to 413.
