Mirette Seireg Ohman is a leading expert in the design of international food security and child nutritional programs. Trained as a nutritionist (M.Sc. Univ. Wisconsin, Madison), Ohman has created or contributed to the creation of nutritional programs in over 30 countries in Central America, West Africa, and East Africa.

Ohman’s approach focuses on the first 1000 days of life, from conception to age two as critical for issues of stunting, malnutrition, and infant mortality. Ohman places great emphasis on behavioral change as a key element in the success or failure of nutritional programs and how it specifically relates to early childhood health and education. Mirette is known for creating and conducting the field validation of a tool called the Tallstick, a low-tech, low-cost, but reliable method of measuring stunting in the field. Furthermore, Mirette has been published through Oxford University Press, United Nations University, The World Bank, University of Wisconsin and many other distinguished entities.
