List of tallest buildings in Mumbai


Mumbai, the commercial and financial capital of India, has most of the high-rise buildings in India, since land in the city is expensive. More than 3000 high-rise buildings have already been constructed in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. It is the city with the 12th highest number of skyscrapers in the world. Most of skyscrapers in Mumbai are residential.


Mumbai is undergoing a massive construction boom, with more than 9 supertalls, hundreds of skyscrapers and thousands of high-rises under construction. Currently Mumbai is home to the largest number of under construction supertalls and skyscrapers in the world.

The original residential skyscrapers in Mumbai were constructed in the 1970s, when Usha Kiran and Matru Mandir were developed and stood at about 76 metres (250 feet), or 25 floors, each. After a significant lull, construction projects since the mid-1990s began taking the skyline upwards, with a major acceleration in the pace of development since 2000, when the Lower Parel area began developing.

This list ranks buildings in Mumbai that stand at least 150 m (490 ft) or 50 floors tall, based on standard height measurement. This includes spires and architectural details but does not include antenna masts. Only completed buildings and under-construction buildings that have been topped out are included.

This lists ranks buildings that are under construction in Mumbai and are planned to rise at least 200 metres (656 ft) or 65 floors tall. Buildings that are only approved, On-Hold or proposed are not included in this table.

This list ranks buildings that were once under construction and are now On-Hold and are planned to rise at least 150 m (490 ft) or 50 floors tall.

This list ranks buildings that are approved or proposed and are planned to rise at least 150 m (490 ft) or 50 floors tall. There are innumerable buildings that are 50 floors approved or proposed in Mumbai. Buildings over 50 floors are proposed in Mumbai Metropolitan Region on a daily basis. So only those buildings that have made significant progress are included in the list.
