Glucotropaeolin (benzylglucosinolate) is a glucosinolate found in cruciferous vegetables, particularly garden cress. Upon enzymatic activity, it is transformed into benzyl isothiocyanate (BITC). Isothiocyanates are being studied for their toxicity to cancer, which is more generally sensitive than to toxins than healthy cells.
