Twinkl Educational Publishing is an online educational publishing house, producing teaching materials. Headquartered in Sheffield, United Kingdom., Twinkl was founded by Jonathan Seaton and Susie Seaton.

Twinkl was founded in February 2010 in order to provide educational materials to teachers. The site was initially supported by advertising, but latterly switched to a subscription model in order to generate revenue.

In July 2013 Twinkl appointed Sheffield based apprenticeship company, VOCA VOCA, as its official apprenticeship network, initially taking on 6 apprentices.

Twinkl changed its name in March 2014 to Twinkl Educational Publishing to reflect the change to a worldwide publishing site, working in over 169 different countries. Twinkl became part of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business alumni and also participated in the 2014 student challenge

Twinkl will be supporting Mark Beaumont's Artemis World Cycle by providing educational materials to be used in schools and homes. Twinkl will be tracking Mark's journey with teaching and learning materials as he makes his way across the globe in under 80 days.

On 14 November 2014, Twinkl hosted the former Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, as part of the Government's ‘Workload Challenge’. This event gave teachers the chance to speak to the Deputy Prime Minister face to face about what they saw as unnecessary administrative and bureaucratic tasks that are causing UK teachers to experience excessive workload and long working weeks.

Twinkl partners with the online edition of the British national newspaper The Guardian, as part of the Teacher Network. The Guardian includes Twinkl in its "How to teach" articles.

in 2016 Twinkl was featured in several publications in a response to the need for teaching resources for children who are new to English arriving in the UK from Syria, Iraq and surrounds as part of the European migrant crisis.

Twinkl now has a variety of sub brands aimed at helping teachers deliver outstanding lessons:-

In 2016 Twinkl won the Education Resource Award (run by British Educational Suppliers Association) for its scheme of work for the Primary Curriculum - Twinkl PlanIt In 2017 Twinkl was shortlisted for a BETT Award (Primary Digital Content) and the Education Resource Award (Primary Non ICT Category) for its creative tool, Twinkl Imagine.
