Stefano Sollima (born 4 May 1966) is an Italian film and television director. He is best known for his crime-drama works such as Romanzo criminale - La serie (2006–2008), ACAB – All Cops Are Bastards (2012), the Gomorrah TV series (2014–present), and Suburra (2015).

Born in Rome, Sollima is the son of the director and screenwriter Sergio Sollima. He started his career as a camera operator realizing numerous reports from war zones for several television networks, including CNN, CBS, and NBC.

In 1991 Sollima debuted as a director with the short film Grazie, which was awarded at the Turin Film Festival. His following short films were selected in important festivals, including Cannes Film Festival, Venice Film Festival and Sitges Film Festival.

Active as a television director since 1998, he had his breakout in 2008, thanks to the critical success of the Sky Cinema series Romanzo criminale – La serie. In 2012 Sollima made his feature film debut with the crime-drama ACAB – All Cops Are Bastards about police brutality in Italy, which got him a David di Donatello nomination for Best New Director and a Nastro d'Argento nomination for the same recipient. In 2014 Sollima created for Sky Cinema the acclaimed TV series Gomorrah, based on the 2006 non-fiction book of the same name by Roberto Saviano. After directing various episodes of the first and the second season of the show, Sollima dropped out in 2016 due to schedule conflicts with his other future projects.
