The Northern South American cougar (Puma concolor concolor) is a subspecies of the cougar. It is native to northern South America, living from Colombia and Venezuela to Peru and northern Brazil.

It is the nominate subspecies of Puma concolor.

It preys on birds, deer, sloths, mice, frogs, agoutis, and lizards, as a result of coexisting with larger jaguars.

They rarely prey on domesticated animals.
