Mothers of the Movement

Mothers of the Movement is a group of women whose African American children have been killed by the police or by gun violence.

Seven women in the group spoke at the July 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia in support of Hillary Clinton's candidacy for President. In August 2016, several members appeared with Beyoncé at the Video Music Awards; the same women had also appeared in the music video for her song Formation. In September 2016, the group campaigned for Hillary Clinton in Florida.
